Hiddenness

This growing collection finds its unity not in subject matter or style, but in the season in which it was created. These works were made during the “unseen years”—the six years we spent in America. There was no promise of a print shop, no thought of what these pieces might one day become. There was a pen and paper, some tubes of paint, and time. And there was an invitation to discover the beauty of Jesus in the messy process of creating art.

These originals are very close to my heart. They represent a season in my life that I deeply cherish. A season where He used a pen and paper to hone a skill, to plant the beginnings of a business that would only take shape six years later, and, most of all, to teach me something of His Father-heart.

Looking back, these works were seeds. They are the OGs—the starting point of what would later become inlyn. Seemingly insignificant artworks created on mundane days. Invitations.

Not invitations to a business, a ministry, or a platform. “Merely” invitations to find His feet through whatever inspired me that day. To paint with Jesus. For Jesus.

How incredibly grateful I am that I accepted those invitations all those years ago.

It is still my sincere desire that every time I pick up a brush, I am accepting an invitation—not to a business, not to a ministry, but to His feet. And my prayer is that these works awaken the same excitement and joy in you: the knowing that it is not ultimately what we do for God that matters, but that we live our lives in response to the One who loves us and gave Himself for us.
